Elementary

In the summer of 2020, the parents of our TK students were facing the reality of their kids starting their Elementary School journey at a computer via "distanced learning". They approached our director and asked about the possibility of a Kindergarten class at LifeBridge. After praying over this big decision, we felt God was leading us to a great new chapter for our school. After an amazing first year those same parents came back and asked "How about 1st grade?" and the rest is history! We now offer Kindergarten through 3rd grade, and plan to add another grade each year. Our Elementary students enjoy all the same high academic standards of our local public schools along with the small class sizes, faith-centered focus, and warm, loving atmosphere that LifeBridge is known for.

Curriculum

Each of our Elementary teachers plans their curriculum with the age, skills, and interests of their students in mind. All of our Elementary classes have dedicated time for writing, reading, math, science, and social studies. Some of the resources needed for each subject are created by the teacher, while others are sourced from a credible curriculum program. Our Kindergarten class uses Reading Street and Handwriting without Tears for writing and grammar, Really Great Reading for reading, and Envision for math. Our 1st and 2nd Grade classes use Saxon Curriculum for math, BJU Press for reading, writing, and grammar, and HD Word for phonics. Science and Social Studies varies by classroom.

I graduated from California State University Sacramento with my Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development and have been teaching for 6 years. Kindergarten is my favorite grade to teach, because this is the year my students will learn to read! It is so special to see a child light up when they learn a new word and are able to read a book on their own. When I am not teaching I love to spend time with my family.

I am very fortunate to have started my childcare experience here at LifeBridge. I have been working at LifeBridge for about 3 years and am very excited to continue to grow with this school and working with our elementary students in their after school program. I am currently a senior at CSU San Marcos, working towards getting my BA in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Human Development.

1st Grade

I have 5 years of formal teaching experience and this will be my second year at LifeBridge Academy. I earned my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education at Grand Canyon University. I am passionate about teaching my students phonics and reading skills, how to think critically, communicate effectively, and how to grow their friendship with Jesus. Outside of the classroom I coach Varsity Cheer at Ramona High School, attend and serve in my church, and spend time with family and friends.

2nd/3rd Grade

I earned my degree in Elementary Education in 2021. I have 5 years of classroom experience in Kindergarten, 2nd, and 3rd Grade. I also taught 4th grade in Phoenix, AZ for one year. When I am not teaching I love being outside at the beach or with my family and friends. My goal with teaching is to always make it fun and engaging! Also, to meet my students where they are at and support them in any way they need.

I have experience with babysitting and helping out my sisters with their children. This is my first year at LifeBridge and I hope to form friendships with all the kids and of course with the staff. I am in my sophomore year of college at San Diego Miramar College as a Business Management student, but soon to switch to a Child Development degree.
